Birds and Butterflies {Savannah, GA Photographer}

Nature is important to the Anderson household. When your husband is in Landscaping, it provides your living. But the Andersons also love spending time outside and enjoying nature. When we lived in Wisconsin we worked hard to create a wonderful garden we could enjoy. While we were sad to leave the beautiful outdoor oasis we created, we were excited to start new in Savannah. Savannah provided us with more year round outdoor opportunities. Nothing is better than being able to extend the growing season.

One thing I wanted to create was an oasis for birds and butterflies. I wanted to create a backyard garden that encouraged them to come and live and visit. We chose plants that attract birds and butterflies. We added birdhouses and bird feeders to encourage them to stick around for a while.

So I hope to add various photographs of our visitors. Not your typical child portraits, but hopefully they will suffice in between client postings :) .

So here is our first visitor…the Red Bellied Woodpecker. I thought it was interesting that it is called the Red Bellied Woodpecker, since it was mostly the head that showed off that bright red color. But apparently, there is already a Red Headed Woodpecker.
