When I first moved to Savannah, I was overwhelmed with all the new insects and critters we found down here. Not only did we see a whole new variety, we seemed to be inundated with them all! One was this Walking Stick. We saw so many when we first moved here, but we didn’t mind. They seemed awfully cute. Unfortunately, with the monthly pest sprays (palmetto bugs my patootie!), drove them away. However, every couple months, before our pest spray visits, they would show up again. Here is one I captured the other day.

Darlene - These are great – up close and personal!
Debra Engelken, Lawrence KS Photographer - How neat – are they slow moving?
Shallyse Gastelum | Durham, NC Children's Photographer - I couldn’t believe all the bugs we encountered after moving to the South. I’m still not used to it! We had to start investing in an exterminator, too – between the rodent-sized spiders and the “palmetto bugs” I was going crazy!
