I was thrilled to be able to help with the St. Baldrick’s Event here in Savannah after my friend Betty invited me to help. She was drawn to the event in part by her neighbor who is battling childhood cancer.
See, The St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding the most promising research to find cures for childhood cancers and give survivors long and healthy lives.
A big part of that are these nationwide events where people volunteer to go bald. They raise money for the chance to go bald. For some that is something they do every time they go to the barber. But for many children battling cancer, going bald is something they never asked for.
Here are some photographs I took from the day. I wish I could show them all, show you everyone who raised money, everyone who donated their time, and everyone who is or knows someone who is battling cancer.
