Savannah Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure

I was asked by a friend to photograph Team Terri at the recent Savannah, Susan G. Komen – Race for the Cure.

It is a sad reality, but I bet everyone who is reading this right now knows someone, or even is someone, who has been effected by breast cancer.

One such person in Savannah was Terri Lank. Terri lost her battle to cancer in February. Terri left behind a loving husband and two small children. Hard to find anything more tragic.

But Terri’s family and friends worked hard to raise over $17,000 for the Susan G. Komen foundation.

It was an honor to be a part of the day, helping to document the day for the friends and family of Terri, along with the thousands of others who ran/walked that day.

Hug your family and friends today.
Run, don’t walk.

  • What an amazing opportunity to be a part of! This Saturday (Sept 24, 2011), I will be photographing the Race in Cincinnati for a group led by a cancer survivor friend of mine. When she first invited me to join her team, I knew deep in my heart, that I had to do more than just join in the race–I had to take this opportunity to chronicle the events of that day for the team, to capture those moments for the families and volunteers. Do you have any pointers?
