This session was done a few weeks ago (bad blogger!), but I have been bogged down with holiday portrait deadlines! Now that those are winding down, I have time to go back to some of these great images from our model session in September.
We started out at the Caplan’s house, then ventured into downtown Lake Forest, IL for some more with an urban feel.
Stephanie was great, she even suggested the ones on the wall, this girl was not afraid to go climbing!!!
When I first read my inquiry from Anne, I thought she was coming to me from Savannah.
See, she is getting married in Charleston, SC and told me she had considered the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah when she saw my work from there.
So I was all prepared to let her know that I wouldn’t be able to do her engagement portraits since I wasn’t scheduled to come back to Savannah any time soon. Anne and Will needed a quick session soon to get some images for their Save the Date cards.
Then I looked closer and saw they were from the Chicago area.
Small world huh?
Lucky for me I was able to get this session in, because these two couldn’t have been cuter. They met in college when Anne was a cheerleader and Will was a football player for the U of I Fighting Illini. I was worried when I told them we are Badger fans in the Anderson household, but luckily, we could put our Big Ten rivalry behind us.

These are adorable! Cute idea with the chalkboard and itty-bitty “she said yes” sign.
This family came to me, looking for photographs of their newly blended family. Finding a day that would fit 5 kids busy schedules, as well as the parents AND get great weather looked to be an impossible task, but we managed to figure it out!
To say I was a bit nervous to photograph 5 kids between the ages of 7 and 11 would be an understatement.
Then, to find out 4 of the 5 were boys.
I was freaking out.
Turns out, they all couldn’t wait to get photographed!
They even had ideas of their own for me!
This couldn’t have gone better. Kids were great, Mom and Dad were excited to get some of themselves since they didn’t get too much of a chance when they got married a few months ago, and the weather was perfect!
We met up at Independence Grove in Libertyville, which is quickly becoming a favorite spot for clients!

What a fun looking family! The kids look super sweet and mom & dad are an adorable pair– you did a great job with these :)
I was all prepared to go for my walk/run today and come back to post a recent client session.
But instead, I woke up to snow!
It was the pretty snow, the kind with the HUGE flakes that fall slowly down. The kind that makes me glad to now live in Chicago rather than Savannah.
(Don’t worry, in a couple months I will be griping about shoveling, ice, snow tires while my friends down south bask in their fall like weather.)
SO here are some cell phone shots of the snow that fell during my walk. Well, I lied. The first image in the top left was of my back yard with my “fancy” camera. The bottom left image was the snow falling while I dropped my daughter off at school, which almost threatened to cancel my run.
The others were from Grant Woods where I go to run a few times a week. Just gorgeous!
