Gorgeous Fall Day | Savannah Photographer

Braving one of the coldest mornings since I have moved here (although coming from Chicago it still felt balmy :) ), I met these adorable youngsters at Wormsloe Historic State Park. Sidenote, if you haven’t been there yet, it is quintessential Savannah…more on that on another day. This brother and sister combo were chatty from the start. I knew we would get along famously :)

Here is a quick sneak peek…and could I love those tights any more????

Snapshot Tuesday! | Savannah Photographer

We haven’t had one of these in a while! Today I spent the day with Annika running around Savannah doing some fun stuff. I could photograph Savannah all day long, I feel very blessed to live here. Not to mention it was a beautiful 78 degrees today.

First we visited The Christmas Carol Train Tour which was just outstanding. Annika had her face morphed into one of the characters (I think her name was Belle? ) We then saw a preview of the movie. I will tell you now, it is a must see! It is in 3D, and while I was worried Annika might freak out, she was simply mesmerized by it. We will need to go to a matinée because she couldn’t stop shouting out, “Look Mom!!!”, “Mom, snowflakes!”, “Mommy, that guy is mean!”….I do hope to show her that Scrooge does in fact turn into a nice guy…uh oh…did I just give away the ending? :)

Next, we went down to the River….Annika calls this Downtown City. “Mom, can we go for a walk in Downtown City?” When we are there, we can’t help but stop for lunch at our favorite spot Tubby’s Tank House. Get the Fried Green Tomato BLT….YUM!!!!!

Last, we headed into the Historic District to see if we could get a glimpse at the filming of Robert Redford’s new movie, The Conspirator. The movie stars James McAvoy and Robin Wright Penn. It is a movie about Mary Surratt who was convicted of taking part in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln and was the first woman executed by the US Government. I love history, and I can’t wait to see it! We did get a glimpse of James McAvoy, who plays Surratt’s lawyer.

So here are some shots from the day. Hope you enjoy!

Holiday Cards | Savannah Photographer

Holiday cards seem to be the one thing that hasn’t gone the way of technology. You can text, email, post on Facebook, or even create a blog to share your world with friends and family. But the cards are classic…they never go out of style.

What you can do is send custom holiday cards to friends and family this year. You can only imagine the ooh’s and ahh’s you will get (via text probably :) ) when they get your custom card with your family on it.

All sessions have the opportunity to purchase custom cards with the images we capture. The Holiday special comes with 25 FREE cards, with additional packs available for purchase. Check out the gallery for more designs, but here are a few fav’s.

Renee Whiting - I love your card designs! And you are so right, “real” cards will never go out of style!

Schona Kessler - I agree that paper cards will never end! Love all of your samples but the last one is my fave! Love the colors and layout.

evie - oooh. I really love that last set! Yeah, paper cards are here to stay. It’s just too fun to get them out of the mailbox and rip them open to see how they’re different every year.

Jeannette Chirinos Gold - Britt these are beautiful
Love the 1st and 2nd set

~Jen~ - Great cards! So much more personal than a text!

Gearing up for the Holidays! | Savannah Photographer

I am so looking forward to my first holiday season in Savannah. First reason for excitement…no snow to shovel! Second reason…extended portrait season!

See, up north we would start wrapping up our sessions in the next couple weeks. It just gets too cold, and dark too early to be able to do too much outside. Being an on-location, natural light photographer…well, this limits how much shooting we can do in the fall and winter. But here in Savannah where we have great weather pretty much year round, I get to shoot for longer.

HOWEVER….I still take a holiday myself, so I will not be conducting sessions between December 14th and January 14th. In order to ensure Christmas delivery, all sessions must be completed prior to November 23rd.

With the new year comes changes for Britt Anderson Photography. I will be restructuring my pricing. There will still be great value with our offerings, but I want to make it more flexible and I want to be able to meet the needs of every portrait lover out there. When you are getting a family portrait, you are investing in memories…you are preserving those memories for many, many years to come. I want everyone to be able to have a piece of that.

If you book a session between now and December 1st, you will lock in 2009 pricing. All sessions booked at this rate must be completed prior to February 1, 2010.

I am excited to share with you what is to come in the future for Britt Anderson Photography. But first we need to get through these holidays. :)

Amanda McDougall - I love them all, but #2 is my favorite!

~Jen~ - Living up here in Canada, I totally know what you mean about fall and winter being limiting photographically. Envious of you and your southern sunshine!

Gillian - Heck, I’d better buck up and get some Xmas sessions done too! Good luck with these – I’m sure you’ll have great success!

evie - Can’t wait to see the changes you make, Britt. It sounds like you’re cooking up something really good!

Becky - Awesome!!! Where can I sign up? :)

Gorgeous Senior | Lake County Photographer

This gorgeous senior…believe it or not…was once my Kindergarten student! My first year teaching I had Samantha in my class. She was so smart, so kind, and just adorable. 12 years later, with the start of the social networking site Facebook, I reconnected with Samantha. I couldn’t believe I was seeing the same 6 year old girl all grown up! Even though I had moved a thousand miles from IL, I knew once I was back in town I would have to photograph this beauty.

I just love seniors! They are so much fun and it helps me keep in touch with what is cool these days :)
