When I first read my inquiry from Anne, I thought she was coming to me from Savannah.
See, she is getting married in Charleston, SC and told me she had considered the Mansion on Forsyth Park in Savannah when she saw my work from there.

So I was all prepared to let her know that I wouldn’t be able to do her engagement portraits since I wasn’t scheduled to come back to Savannah any time soon. Anne and Will needed a quick session soon to get some images for their Save the Date cards.

Then I looked closer and saw they were from the Chicago area.
Small world huh?

Lucky for me I was able to get this session in, because these two couldn’t have been cuter. They met in college when Anne was a cheerleader and Will was a football player for the U of I Fighting Illini. I was worried when I told them we are Badger fans in the Anderson household, but luckily, we could put our Big Ten rivalry behind us.

This couple came my way via Columbia, SC. See, although they live far away, they try and get back to Savannah anyway they can. Who can blame them?

In fact, Tybee is where Justin proposed to Emily. Since they couldn’t decide between a Savannah session and a Tybee session, they thought, why not both?

These two couldn’t be more adorable together. They have done plenty of the long distance thing, and now they are ready to do the til death do us part thing.

Men, take note….this is how you do it.

Tim contacted me months ago to tell me had this grand plan to propose to his girlfriend while they were visiting Savannah in May. He had everything planned, down to the carriage ride, the square he would be proposing in, everything.

I don’t know how he was able to wait all this time to finally pop the question, my own husband had the ring in his pocket a mere minutes before proposing to me while I was cleaning! But his patience paid off, because he couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day to ask Cresent to marry him.

On the big day, I got a text from Tim, letting me know he was on his way in the carriage with Cresent. I had brought my husband and daughter along as decoys. While I was being snap happy with them, Tim and Cresent pulled up and walked to the gazebo in Whitefield Square.

Little did Cresent know that as soon as they entered the gazebo, my camera turned to them and I caught the proposal, bent knee and everything! To say she was surprised would have been an understatement.

It was great to be a part of this magical day, and I wish you both ALL the happiness in the world!

Surprise! We’re Married! | Engagement Photographer

Dunne’ contacted me back in March to schedule an engagement session for her and her fiance who were going to be in Savannah for a little vacation.
You know why I loved Dunne’ from the start? She asked a million questions! This was a lady who knew what she wanted. I love that. I knew then whether she chose me or not, she would be happy with who she chose because she would choose the best fit for her. Thankfully, I got the chance!

When we met up in May, it was of course HOT. Is it ever not hot in Savannah?

I saw these two all snazzy, looking great. Their first word to me was hello, and the next words were

“Well, we just got married!”

That is right, they decided to just go for it and get married in our beautiful, picturesque Savannah. So now I wasn’t doing engagement portraits for them anymore, I was suddenly doing wedding portraits!

No pressure.

Congratulations Dunne’ and Chris. It was so wonderful meeting you, and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Updates and Excitement

As we start off a new year and the excitement of he holidays die down, I get a chance to take a breather and look ahead.
What will the new year bring for Britt Anderson Photography?

One of my favorite things to do is look through all of my client images to see what I will be adding to my website portfolio. It is always so hard to choose, because with every session you can hear me say, “oh, I love that one!”…”oh wait, no I love THAT one!” But it also gives me a chance to relive those moments with clients, making each one unique and fun.

So that is what you will start seeing in the next couple weeks. New photographs in my portfolio.

You will also start seeing new product guides. This will be a true labor of love. My goal for 2011 is to get more portraits up on client’s walls. Many times it is hard to imagine a large print on your wall. Heck, before I became a photographer big was an 8×10. But I plan on showing you why your family should be filling up your walls and I will be showing you how to do it. With this in mind, I have also restructured my pricing to allow for fantastic savings on wall galleries.

And, because I have a hard time posting without including a picture, here you go.
