I was hired to take photographs for two different articles this month.

First, I photographed the lovely Mia as fashion editor Kat and stylist Evangeline worked to “shop your closet” with Mia’s wardrobe.
They were able to create several new outfits out of clothes she had in her closet already!

An added benefit for me, getting all of this knowledge first hand as we worked.

The second article was for an article celebrating a local treasure, Ragdale in Lake Forest, IL.

I was thrilled to visit here, as I had never even heard of it before.
Ragdale supports writers and artists in a retreat setting and makes the arts more accessible to the public. I was so excited to get to tour the facilities and learn more about it. I highly suggest you check them out as well!

As always, check out their iPad edition….they always throw extra pictures in there!

Kesley with Photographers For contacted me a couple weeks ago, asking if I would be interested in being interviewed for her site about my work with Inspiration Through Art.

Well of course!
Photographers For aims to connect portrait and wedding photographers with the  photo centric, local charities who need their help. They also feature photographers who are creatively using their businesses and their skills for the benefit of others.

 Not only was I able to talk about my work with Inspiration Through Art, but also the work I have done with St. Baldrick’s Foundation and the Susan G. Komen for the cure.

An edgy urban session, or a more relaxed country session?

Considering Lake County has one of the most expansive forest preserve systems in Illinois, there are so many natural resources in our own backyards! With rolling hills, tall trees, lush grasses, we have everything we need to create that dreamy, relaxed portrait.

What we also have available to us, are so many quaint small towns, with fantastic buildings and back alleys to give us an edgy urban session….not to mention we are located right between two great big cities, Chicago and Milwaukee!
I have photographed in downtown Antioch, Libertyville, and Lake Forest….and would love to come to your town too!
