It is a favorite subject amongst macro photographers. Ladybugs provide a bright canvas and spectacular focus potential when shooting them up close. They also tend to stay still just long enough to capture them before they flitter off.

This was a little bit different….here is that true macro, where I am getting in really close. The tricky thing about a macro lens, it is a lot harder to get focus….I could get all technical on ya, but trust me when I say it is tough! You get so close to your subject, every little breeze makes it hard.

I spotted this dew on one of my rose plants. The perfect little droplets called to me. Its early in the morning, and I am out there in my pj’s crouched down trying to get the shots. Hope you enjoy!

I decided to put on my creative cap and play around with some of my Spring Flower images. I got a macro lens (yes, the kind that lets you get REEEEAAALLY close) a few years ago. It is great for those close up of newborns too! But all in all, it is a great fun lens to have and mess around with. Another great reason to love spring…many macro opportunities in the garden! Before I moved to Savannah, it would have been at least two months before I could do this kind of photography…have I mentioned I love living here? :)

These aren’t the usual bright, cheerful spring flowers you are thinking of…after a bit of playing, they are a bit moodier, darker.
