Macro Monday {Savannah Photographer}

This was a little bit different….here is that true macro, where I am getting in really close. The tricky thing about a macro lens, it is a lot harder to get focus….I could get all technical on ya, but trust me when I say it is tough! You get so close to your subject, every little breeze makes it hard.

I spotted this dew on one of my rose plants. The perfect little droplets called to me. Its early in the morning, and I am out there in my pj’s crouched down trying to get the shots. Hope you enjoy!

Spring is in the Air! {Savannah, GA Photographer}

I decided to put on my creative cap and play around with some of my Spring Flower images. I got a macro lens (yes, the kind that lets you get REEEEAAALLY close) a few years ago. It is great for those close up of newborns too! But all in all, it is a great fun lens to have and mess around with. Another great reason to love spring…many macro opportunities in the garden! Before I moved to Savannah, it would have been at least two months before I could do this kind of photography…have I mentioned I love living here?

These aren’t the usual bright, cheerful spring flowers you are thinking of…after a bit of playing, they are a bit moodier, darker.

Love How Our Garden Grows {Savannah Photographer}

Gardening for the Andersons is in our blood. My grandfather was a gardener, my mom is a gardener, my husband has a horticultural degree, and I love gardening. So I had no doubt that Annika would become a lover of gardening as well. I am new to this zone 8 thing here in Savannah, Georgia. I am hoping to get to grown some new plants down here.

When I went out to get all the supplies to start our garden this year, I picked up three “kits” for kids to have their own garden. She gets to grow a sunflower, a pumpkin and a watermelon. She was so excited, she kept shouting, “I get my own garden, I get my own garden!” She couldn’t wait to get started. Of course, right after the seeds were planted, she wanted to know when they would grow. “I am going to go take a nap and when I wake up, they will be plants!” Yeah, right.

Are they ready now Mom? Can I keep them by my bed so I can watch them grow?

As we explore gardening here in Savannah, I will continue to document our progress throughout the spring, summer and fall.
