Winding Down | Savannah to Chicago Photographer

I have been working on this post for about a week. Every time I go to write it, I get a little blue and walk away. It is time to move back to Chicago.

See, I love Savannah….let me say that again. I LOVE Savannah. I never thought this city girl from the suburbs of Chicago would ever enjoy living in the south. But it didn’t take me long to fall in love with Savannah.

It is a great place to be a parent. We enjoyed so many excursions, to Fort Pulaski, Tybee Beach, Hilton Head, Oatland Island Wildlife Center, River Walk, the many historic squares…I could go on and on.

It has also been a great place to be a photographer. Not only for myself, but for the many clients I had the privilege to work with. Whether they were tourists from out of town, or home grown here in Savannah. My business grew faster than I could have imagined. I could only hope that the same success follows me to Chicago.

I will be back….I couldn’t stay away. But until then, here is a few shots from our last trip to Tybee….for now.

This couple came my way via Columbia, SC. See, although they live far away, they try and get back to Savannah anyway they can. Who can blame them?

In fact, Tybee is where Justin proposed to Emily. Since they couldn’t decide between a Savannah session and a Tybee session, they thought, why not both?

These two couldn’t be more adorable together. They have done plenty of the long distance thing, and now they are ready to do the til death do us part thing.

This session had to be postponed a couple times due to the weather…you just never know when rain may pop up on the Georgia Coast. Thankfully, the day we ended up shooting was gorgeous!

I was prepared for Miss C, little girls always love having their picture taken. However, Mr. A, being a pre-teen himself…well, I wasn’t quite sure how excited he would be about having his portraits done. Luckily he was a fantastic sport, and I worked with two of the most well behaved children ever. Be proud mama!

We got to play around the beach, even pretended to be lifeguards.

This gorgeous family was vacationing on Tybee Island and of course, just had to have beach portraits done! When Kim first contacted me, I didn’t think I would be able to do it, thinking I would have moved back to Chicago by the time they were in town. But luckily, the move was postponed, and I got to meet this adorable family of four a couple weeks ago.

All the stars must have been aligned, because the light couldn’t have been better, and these two little ones couldn’t have been more well behaved. It made for such a great session.

Updates and Excitement

As we start off a new year and the excitement of he holidays die down, I get a chance to take a breather and look ahead.
What will the new year bring for Britt Anderson Photography?

One of my favorite things to do is look through all of my client images to see what I will be adding to my website portfolio. It is always so hard to choose, because with every session you can hear me say, “oh, I love that one!”…”oh wait, no I love THAT one!” But it also gives me a chance to relive those moments with clients, making each one unique and fun.

So that is what you will start seeing in the next couple weeks. New photographs in my portfolio.

You will also start seeing new product guides. This will be a true labor of love. My goal for 2011 is to get more portraits up on client’s walls. Many times it is hard to imagine a large print on your wall. Heck, before I became a photographer big was an 8×10. But I plan on showing you why your family should be filling up your walls and I will be showing you how to do it. With this in mind, I have also restructured my pricing to allow for fantastic savings on wall galleries.

And, because I have a hard time posting without including a picture, here you go.
